Burlesque Inspired Sabath

My outfit for church this week was burlesque inspired. I rocked a high waisted black pencil skirt that I bought from Charlotte Russe a couple years ago; A lime green Satin Blouse that I bought on the sale rack at Kohls a couple years ago; a pair of grey lace fishnets that I love, love, Love and purchased from Ross; A pair of Shiny Patent Leather Heels that I believe I bought at Chalotte Russe but can't quite remember; and a lacey, puffy rose clip for hair that I bought at Claires last year.

For make-up I did a classic eye but used royal blue eyeliner instead of black. My Braclet came from Forever 21 and my ring from the Avenue.

Thats all for now!

You Know It's the One when...

Towards the end of every winter I start to plan and imagine what my look will be for the Spring. I try to look at my current wardrobe and find pieces to add to make it feel brand new.  A couple of months ago, I was drawing a blank until I found these really, really, REALLY cute shoes at Buckle. Once I laid eyes on them, I felt inspired! I could see my entire wardrobe reworked in a whole new way when paired with these shoes. They would be all I needed! Well, almost all I needed. I would definitely need a new pair of capris. But other than that, they were the ones.

Unfortunately, they were out of my price range at the time. So, I did what I almost always do and I looked for similar shoes that were less expensive. For the last couple of weeks, I have cruised the isles of Ross, TJ Max, the internet, and yada, yada, yada and found nothing. Nothing to compare to these perfect shoes. So I started saving for them. Picking up a couple extra private lessons did the trick and now they are mine!

If only it would quit raining!!

Cost $60

Strange Bird...

Bird, Bird, Bird, Birds the word.
Bird, Bird, Bird, Birds the word…

I have gone feather crazy. I now look like a purple bird smacked right into my head. I started out with two white and orange feathers. Now, I have almost thirty bright purple feather extensions strategically placed by my dear friend Nicole all over my head.

The total cost, minus time was just under $10. If you have read the Hunger Games then you’ll know what I mean when I say that I’ve gone Capitol.

My New Feather Extensions!!!

Lately I have been all about feathers so it seemed natural to go ahead and start
growing them. No, not really but if I could I would. I have literally been on a feather
craze wanting long feather earings, feather bouquets, feather beds and so on. I have
been on hunt for the right type of feathers to do some of the projects I have wanted
to do. Going to the local craft stores and fabric stores has not cut it. I was having
no luck finding what I wanted. On a recent trip to Bend, Oregon I chatted with a girl
who was wearing the most amazing feather earrings. I asked her about them and she
proceeded to tell me that her bff specially made them for her. I inquired about where
she got the feathers and she told me that they had come from a fly fishing store. With
that tip in mind, I set off to do my thing…

This last Friday rolled around and my good friend Nicole and I set off to the fly-fishing
store and the fake hair store to get silicone extension beads that you squeeze in with
pliers. I now have two feather extensions!! I am so very happy with it. Some people
have given me the strangest looks and I just love it!

Ross Does it Again!!

Alright, so a few posts ago, I was debating
whether or not to spend a fortune on a sweet
Nike shirt that I found at Dicks Sporting Goods.
A good friend of mine saw the post and sent
me a $10 off coupon for the store. I got really
excited and went in the next day to get the shirt.
I ended up leaving disappointed because they
didn't have my size and even with the $10 off,
it was still too much to spend for an ill-fitted shirt.
Two days went by and I went into Ross to pick-up
a new sports bra. To my surprise the Ross Girls were
going around with pricing guns discounting the
clearance rack to practically nothing. I went crazy!
Talk about pure joy. I purchased some things for $.50!!
I ended up buying three more fleece zip-ups. Two
Calvin Klein ones in Teal and Black and a peachy/pink
Reebok fleece hoody. The total of all three was less
than the one I bought earlier this season. I also got
two Adidas work out shirts, three sports bras, A cute
no-name work out shirt and two pairs of leggings.
It has been a long time since I lucked out like that.
I ended up getting a whole new work-robe for
ridiculously cheap thanks to Ross!

Snow Bunnies

How could I be this lucky? My sister who is my end-all-be-all BFF and I went to Mt. Bachelor with an amazing group of friends that my sister works with. My sister is a hair stylist up in Tacoma Washington at a sweet salon called Willow. There, she works with the Bridgett, Rachel, and Lisa. They are not only drop dead gorgeous but nice too. I was so flattered when they invited me on their big ski vacation. Eric, who is Rachel’s husband had a timeshare hook-up at Eagle Crest in Redmond, Oregon. We stayed at this super nice condo for FREE!

I had such a good time. Although it’s hard not to when you are around good people, and you have a freshly waxed board. On top of that, the weather was insainly perfect! Fresh powder and sunshine. Who could ask for anything more? We ended up skiing the whole mountain! Lisa, Rachel, Eric and I went to the very top of the summit. I was really jacked up on adrenalin until the chair lift approached the top and I realized that it is literally the top with just a short landing off of the lift. Guards stood at the edge to make sure no one went off the ledge. It was rad! Lisa said she couldn’t even remember the view she could only recall the fear!
For the trip, I packed two pairs of Boarding pants but only wore one of them. They ones I chose to wear are made by Columbia. They are gray and black hounds-tooth with fleece lining which I love. They have a cute stitch on the back pockets and belt loops which are perfect for my boarding belt which is white with a gray swirl. I opted for a waffle shirt, a light weight pink and black scarf, my black and white checked hat, and my boarding coat which is holding up very well considering it is three years old. In fact, all my gear is old but it’s all good. I still like it and it is definitely still functional. I was a little jealous that my sis got to buy all new stuff for the trip because buying new stuff for a trip is oh so fun!

OMG! I almost forgot to mention the Reggae concert… On Thurs. night we went to see Anthony B. at the Domino Room in downtown Bend, Oregon. It was really fun.

Bend is a perfect destination for my sister and I to vacation too! We have family on both sides which we were able to see and dine with and my besty from high school lives there with her 1 year old princess. All in all this was a great little getaway so thank you to all that helped make it happen.

Warrior Girl

What should one wear when they are a basket-case? Well, in my opinion there are two ways to go about addressing the delicate condition of basket-case-itis. The first is to wear the softest, most cuddliest items you own. That way when you break into a fit of tears those around you will love hugging you and encourage you to lay down and sleep it off. This approach is not one I am prepared to take today. The second approach and the one of my choice is to dress like a warrior so that one is prepared to fight off those that offend. I have this perfect new necklace that looks just like warrior armor. So I will wear that… Ring, Ring, RING!! Oh that is my phone. “Lindsey, we are having an emergency, can you come into work?” “Sure.” I guess warrior girl will have to wait. It’s Gymnastics Girl today which is almost the same thing.
